Advancing in Line

Advancing towards the enemy, side by side, shields held high, gladius drawn and ready. This was a trademark Roman tactic, forming an impenetrable wall of shields and swords, working as a team. The combined European groups looked very impressive and gave the crowds a taste of what it must have looked like to face the Roman army.
